Ask Me Anything
Just don't ask me to write an essay at the moment
After more than four years of dodging it, I have finally caught COVID-19. And boy is this thing kicking my ass. Definitely not how I thought this week as going to go. I’ve managed to do about a day’s worth of work over five days. Outside of that, all I’ve been able to concentrate on are novels: Tress of the Emerald Sea (2023) and Yumi and the Nightmare Painter (2023). I expect to begin The Sunlit Man (2023) today. Yeah, I’m catching up on some Brandon Sanderson stuff. In case you were wondering, Hoid absolutely is narrating my fever dreams, which is nowhere near as cool as it sounds.
Needless to say, the great piece I had planned for this week will have to wait for the next. But rather than just going radio silent, which is how I’ve handled every previous time fortune vomited on my eiderdown (as Blackadder once put it), I wanted to take this opportunity to do two things.
First, I’d like to do an “Ask Me Anything” piece soon, so I’m putting out the official call for reader questions here. You can email me at AmericanDreaming08@gmail.com, or simply reply to this email if you’re reading in your inbox. You can also leave a comment (email is preferred though). Ask anything you like, but exercise common sense.
Second, I’d like to highlight a few pieces on my mind from deep in the archives — articles that will be new to most of my current readers. Understandably, they all deal, in one way or another, with the theme of recovery, improvement, and progress. I quite enjoy them, and I think you will too. I’ll see you all next week!
